Curriculum Vitae
N.Zoppi is Associate Professor in Applied Biology at the Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine (DMMT) at the University of Brescia (IT), where she is a faculty member, since 2011.
N. Zoppi received Degree in Biological Sciences in 1989 at the University of Pavia, the Specialization in Biochemical and clinical chemical Sciences in 1994, and the Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics applied to Medical Sciences in 2001 at the University of Brescia. Here, in 1999 she was Researcher and Assistant Professor in Applied Biology.
Actually, she is member of Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology, and Experimental Medicine, professor of the Master School in Igiene e Medicina preventiva. She teaches Applied Biology in Degree courses of Medicine and Surgery, Biotechnologies, Exercise and Sport Sciences, and Imaging and radiotherapy techniques. She collaborates with Academy of Lincei in scientific educational programs.
N. Zoppi is member of the Joint Committee Teachers-Students of DMMT. She is member of the Scientific Center "Connettivopatie ereditarie e Sindromi di Ehlers-Danlos (CESED)" and the Observatory on the Connettivopatie ereditarie (OCE). She is member of the Associazione Italiana di Biologia e Genetica (AIBG.) since 2000, and member of the International Society for Matrix Biology (ISMB ) since 2009.
Her research interests relate to molecular mechanisms regulating organization and remodeling of tissues' extracellular matrix either in physiological and pathological conditions and to signal transduction pathways controlling cell adhesion, survival, proliferation, and differentiation. Since 1990, she studies the molecular pathways involved in the pathogenesis of inherited connective tissues disorders, such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, Arterial Tortuosity Syndrome, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Marfan Syndrome, Brittle Cornea Syndrome. In these fields, N Zoppi is author of many papers and she published the book "Biology and genetics of the skeletal muscle cell".

PATHOGENESIS OF HYPERMOBILE TYPE EHLERS-DANLOS SYNDROME
Identification of the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogeneisi of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). Analysis of the transcriptomic profile and characterization of a myofibroblast-like phenotype in hEDS skin cells. Identification of the integrin-mediated signal transduction pathway promoting the fibroblast-to -myofibroblast transition.
