EEE is a group of researchers studying issues related to environmental and energy economics. The group has extensive experience in using different methodologies and applications, developing both theoretical and empirical methods. The topics covered are energy markets for renewable resources, such as photovoltaics, wind energy, wave energy, etc. and conventional resources, such as oil, gas and coal. Expertise was also developed in the field of circular economy, optimal use of resources and waste management, as well as the analysis of environmental and energy policies and their impact on the economic and environmental level. In the area of sustainability, studies were carried out to quantify the social and environmental impacts of investments in production sectors, corporate social responsibility, smart cities and the introduction of electric vehicles, and the quantification of sustainable development objectives. A further focus was devoted to risk analysis and choices under uncertainty. The methodologies used range from sectoral, macroeconomic and microeconomic modelling analysis, agent models and statistical econometric analysis.
