Main current projects: 1) genetics/genomics of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathies (HMSN), Transthyretin-Related Familial Amyloid Polyneuropathy (TTR-FAP), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Spinal and Bulbar Muscular Atrophy (SBMA) 2) involvement of iron homeostasis dysregulation in human pathologies, particularly in neurodegenerative disorders and inflammatory/infectious diseases 3) effects of phytoestrogens and endocrine disrupters on iron metabolism and inflammation
