Eugenio Monti graduated with honours in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan in 1983, he is Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Medical School of Brescia University. He is member of the Board of “Molecular and Cellular Biotechnologies Applied to Biomedical Area” Ph.D. Program of the Medical School of Brescia University. He is member of the Scientific Board of the “Center for the Study and Research on Inherited Diseases” of Brescia University. Since 1989, he is member of the Italian Biochemical Society. From 1996 to 2000 he has worked at Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (Tigem) of Milan as guest scientist. Dr. Monti is author of scientific publications on the following topics: biochemical mechanisms of catabolite inactivation in S. cerevisiae; characterization of human anti-IL2 antibodies; characterization of sialidase enzymes from rat CNS and pig brain; sphingolipid metabolism in cultured mammalian cells using fluorescent analogues; identification of the human gene responsible for mucolipidosis type IV; cloning and expression of human sialidases.
