GIOVANNA BONFANTI – CURRICULUM VITAE


Born in Cremona (Italy) on December 27, 1965.

Present position: Associate Professor of Mathematical Analysis, Department of Mathematics,
Faculty of Engineering, University of Brescia (Italy).

EDUCATION

- March 1989: Degree in Mathematics (summa cum laude), Università Cattolica del Sacro
Cuore, Brescia.

- June 1989 – December 1991 : Research fellowship, Department of Mathematics,
Faculty of Engineering, University of Brescia.

- January 1992 – September 1993: Research fellowship, Department of Mathematics,
Faculty of Engineering, University of Brescia.


FORMER POSITION

September 1993 - February 2005: Assistant Professor of Mathematical Analysis,
Department of Mathematics,
Faculty of Engineering, University of Brescia.

TEACHING ACTIVITY

The teaching experience includes several courses in Calculus and Advanced Calculus at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Brescia (since 1998).


SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS

The research activity concerns the following subjects:

- Mathematical models for contact problems with friction in linear elasticity.

- Abstract hyperbolic and Schroedinger-type differential equations.

- Mixed problems related to mathematical models for phase transition phenomena.

- Well-posedness of thermoviscoelastic systems.

- Modelling for contact problems with adhesion: well-posedness and asymptotic behaviour of
the solutions.

She attended and contributed to a number of congresses and workshops.
