DEPERO Laura Eleonora

Laura Eleonora Depero was an assistant professor from 1990 to 2000 and from 2001 is a full professor of Fundamental Chemistry for Technologies at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Brescia. She is the Head of Chemistry for Technologies Laboratory (www.chem4tech.it). The primary aim of Chem4Tech is to enhance the understanding of properties and behaviour of materials. In particular, the activities are focused to develop and to optimize experimental techniques, methods, and protocols for studying new materials/devices. Researches cover a very wide variety of materials (metal, ceramic, glass, semiconductor, polymers, and bio-organic materials) and they are carried out in collaboration with several national and international researchers belonging to the government as well as private research laboratories.
She is the delegate for the Interuniversitary Consortium of Science and Technology of Materials (INSTM) for the UNI Commission for Nanotechnology standardisation and expert for the Commissions ISO TC229 e CEN/BTWG 166 'Nanotechnology' and ISO TC201 “Surface Chemical Analysis”
She is a co-author of more than 270 scientific papers and referee of International journals and projects of science and technology of materials and author of the three book chapters.
She is co-inventor of six national patents and two PCTs.
She is referee for National and International agencies as MIUR, ANVUR, Regione Piemonte, the National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the"Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic " , TWAS, VIGONI Program (Italy- Germany), Galileo Program (Italy –France).
