Curriculum Vitae
Francesco Gringoli is Associate Professor of Telecommunications at the Dept. of Information Engineering of the University of Brescia, Italy since 2018. His current research interests include algorithms for privacy aware authentication and trust, performance evaluation and medium access control in Wireless LANs, statistical classification of network traffic, and high-speed packet inspection. He is collaborating with several international institutions like IMDEA Networks (Madrid), Hamilton Institute (National University of Ireland), Télécom Bretagne, Telecom ParisTech and many others.
He has participated to several European and National Projects and he is currently involved in European Project FLAVIA and National PRIN IMPRESA. In 2007 he was funded by the Italian Research Program PRIN (Project RECIPE). His research projects have been financed by major telecommunication companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks. In the past few years he has been retained as a consultant by several major companies, such as Alcatel-Lucent and Beretta SpA.
Francesco Gringoli was born in Milan in 1974 and graduated with best marks 110/110"summa cum laude" in Telecommunication Engineering in 1998 at the University of Padua. He got his Ph.D. in Information Engineering discussing the role of non-linear susceptibility in periodic dielectrics for full optical wavelength conversion, showing both analytical and experimental results obtained in the framework of the European Project ATLAS. During the thesis he was also involved in the analysis of full optical switching by means of quadratic spatial solitons in collaboration with the laboratories of IRCOM (Limoges, France).
He has authored more than 80 papers and he has served in the committees of several IEEE and ACM conferences. He holds two US/International patents and is co-author of several patents pending.
