Thesis: Interaction between proteins and centromeric DNA in S. cerevisiae
1987/1990 - Milano - Istituto Sieroterapico Milanese - Research Scientist.
Research projects: Cloning and molecular analysis of erythrocyte membrane proteins from Hypertensive and Normotensive Milan rat strains. Characterization of ß-NGF mRNAs in human fetal tissues and analysis of human ß-NGF gene.
1987 - Oxford, U.K - Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, Oxford - Visiting Scientist
Research project: identification of brain specific transcripts by subtractive hybridization.
1990/1993 – Houston, TX - Institute for Molecular Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine - Visiting Research Associate.
1994 – Houston, TX - Institute for Molecular Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine - Research Assistant Professor.
Research projects: Isolation and characterization of the murine Xist gene. Characterization of the Kallmann syndrome gene and molecular analysis of the Xp22 region in man. Identification and analysis of a newly identified gene family of chloride channels in man and mouse.
