Curriculum Vitae
L.Giuzzi graduated in Mathematics in 1996,, receiving a grade of 110 cum laude/110. From 1997 till 2000 he has been a doctoral student at University of Sussex, where in 2001 he succesfully defended his dissertation `Hermitian varieties over finite fiels', receiving the degree of DPHIL. From 2000 till 2005 he has been a research fellow (assegnista di ricerca) at Universita' degli Studi di Brescia; in December 2005 he become research associate (ricercatore) in Geometry (MAT/03) at Politecnico di Bari. From 2008 till 2018 he has been working once more at Universita' di Brescia as Ricercatore Confermato.
Since 1 June 2018 he his Associate Professor in Geometry at Universita' di Brescia. In 2004 and ever since 2006, Luca Giuzzi has been resposible for courses (at both undergraduate and graduate level) at several universities; he has also been in the organizing committee of the National UMI meeting of 2007 (Bari), of the international conferences Combinatorics 2008 (Costermano), Fq13 (Gaeta), HyGraDe (Messina) and Combinatorics 2018 (Arco). He is currently author of more than 30 published papers, all appearing on international refereed journals, 1 monography (edited by Springer-Verlag) and 1 national patent. He has been scientific coordinator for the local PRIN unit for the 2012 PRIN project ``Geometric structures, Combinatorics and their application'' and a member of COST action IC1104 ``Random Network Coding and Designs over GF(q)'' His main research interests are the investigation and characterisation of geometrical structures and designs endowed with large automorphism groups, their embeddings and their applications to coding theory and cryptography. More in detail, he has been working on: Grassmannians of point-line geometries, construction of linear codes arising from the embedding of geometrical structures, maximal arcs and hyperovals in finite projective planes, graph decompositions and related questions, cryptography.
