Gruppo 02/PHYS-03 - FISICA SPERIMENTALE DELLA MATERIA E APPLICAZIONI

Settore PHYS-03/A - Fisica sperimentale della materia e applicazioni
Elisabetta Comini (EC) was born in 1972, graduated in Physics from the University of Pisa in 1996 and received her PhD in Engineering Materials in 2000. She became a Researcher in 2001, and afterward she was appointed full professor in 2016 at the University of the Brescia. From the AA 1999/2000 has continuously carried out teaching activities for various three-year and master degree courses at the University of Brescia. She has also held courses and seminars for various Doctoral Schools and has been a member / referee of national / international commissions for the PhD degree. EC is a researcher specialized in the growth of metal oxides, in particular nanowires, thin films and in the measurement of their electronic, functional and structural properties. EC has been responsible for the research line on "quasi-1D nanocrystalline metal oxide structures" at the SENSOR laboratory since 2002, a laboratory that she has been directing since 2017 (sensor.unibs.it). Her original work had an impact on the research community. She was the first to report the gas detection properties of conductivity devices based on 1D metal oxide nanostructures. A document cited more than 1200 times that has opened a completely new field that remains an area of research among the most dynamic. Moreover, she was the first to synthesize radial or linear heterostructures based on oxide (In2O3-SnO2) by evaporation - condensation. EC is a very active member of the research community, serving in editorial committees of international journals such as Sensor Letters, Science of Advanced Materials, Advanced Engineering Materials, Journal of Sensors, Sensors, Chemosensors and Nanosensors. She is also a member of the committee of the technical program of conferences on chemical sensors and materials, and was selected as an Eurosensors Fellow in 2012. She was one of the five co-chairs of the 2013 Fall Meeting of the Materials Research Society, and is a voting member of the steering committee of the EUROSENSORS conference. She was the promoter of 15 research doctorates and supervisor of 30 university students. She has more than 450 communications, 120 communications by invitation to conferences and held more than 80 communications by invitation, including 5 plenary. EC has over 350 peer reviewed articles, h-index 51 (Web of Science), 53 scopus and 62 (google scholar). EC has been local manager of national and EU projects (FP7), of industrial contracts, and coordinator of the project "Advanced Electro-Optical Chemica Sensors" SPS G5634 NATO.

Curriculum Vitae

Elisabetta Comini received the degree in Applied Physics from the University of Pisa in 1996 with a thesis on spectroscopic characterization of Erbium doped crystals for laser application. In February 1997 she started a Ph.D. at the Gas Sensor Laboratory. In 2000 she has received the PhD degree by discussing a thesis on "Preparation and characterization of thin film semiconductor gas sensors".
Between 199 and 2001 she was employed at SENSOR as an INFM researcher. From November 2001 she has been appointed as a researcher of the University of Brescia and she is involved in the preparation and characterization of semiconducting thin film gas sensor.
During her career she has published more than 100 articles on International Journals with referee.
She has been involved in many European and National projects on the topic of gas sensors.
She is actually project director of a project funded by ERA and one by NATO. She has organized several symposia and she is part of the program comettee of several international conferences.
Her H-index (isi web of knowledge) is 23, she has 123 articles published on international journals with referee classified by ISI.
