Agrofood Lab is a multidisciplinary research group working to promote sustainable production in agriculture, environmental health and socio-economic promotion of the agri-food sector. Agrofood Lab's goals are to help farms in the process of ecological transition, produce innovation and transfer scientific knowledge, and putting it at the service of society and territory.

The main areas and activities of research of Agrofood Lab are:
• Plant health, through the development of tools to support the management of pests and plant crops diseases, including invasive species
• Development and implementation of model and quantitative approaches to assess pollinators health and pollination ecosystem services
• Study of the biodiversity of agricultural systems using traditional and molecular methods and implementing methods of analysis based on the study of ecological networks
• Assess the quality of soils through multidisciplinary approaches to determine its fertility and interpreting the agro-ecological meaning of the organic matter
• Evaluate contamination and study the ecological functionality of soil, using chemical, biochemical and molecular biology techniques
• Assessing the impacts connected with plant production, by developing modelling approaches to estimate impacts related to agriculture.
• Study and develop methodologies to ensure a sustainable management of livestock production, focusing on the assessment of environmental impacts generated by cattle breeding and precision nutrition.
• Develop systemic approaches to the study of agroecosystems by employing multidimensional and multiscale criteria to manage biodiversity
