Tissue Regeneration

Group
Functional loss or failure of a tissue or organ represents one of the most disabling, frequent, and costly problems in health care. It is not exclusively limited to organ failure in toto but also involves localized tissue deficits limited to non-vital parts that nonetheless result in poor quality of life. Tissue regeneration is a complex and well-orchestrated biological phenomenon that takes place during the normal healing of a tissue or organ but sometimes it turns out to be inefficient. The goal of this research group is to promote, optimize and accelerate the regenerative phenomenon by paying attention to the peculiar characteristics of each tissue and organ apt to evaluate the molecular mechanisms and both macroscopic and microscopic morphological aspects.
