Fabio Bignotti is associate professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Brescia. Initially his research interests have been concerned mainly with the preparation and physico-chemical characterisation of tailor-made polymers for biomedical applications. Then the researches of F. Bignotti have extended also to the investigation of the mechanical behaviour of polymers and polymer-matrix composites. The research activities of prof. Bignotti can be grouped mainly in three areas:
a)investigation of the thermo-mechanical properties of polymer-matrix nanocomposites; b)development of novel stimuli-responsive polymers and composites; c)preparation and physico-chemical characterisation of novel biodegradable and biocompatible polymers.
Prof. Bignotti is coauthor of more than 100 scientific publications including articles, national and international patents, and communications in national and international conferences.
