BORNATICI SARA

SARA BORNATICI is Associate Professor in General and Social Pedagogy (PAED 01/A) at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, University of Brescia, where she teaches General and Social Pedagogy in the degree programmes in Professional Education, Sport Sciences, Dietetics, and Orthoptics and Ophthalmic Assistance.
She has obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the role of Full Professor in Competitive Sector 11/D1 – Pedagogy and History of Pedagogy.
She holds a PhD in Pedagogy/Education (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2012), a Second-level Master's in Human Development and Environment, and a First-level Master's in Food Management and Green Marketing (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore).
Her main research areas include service-learning, environmental and care pedagogy, sustainability, and participatory methodologies. She is currently Supervisor of the Marie Curie Project COMPASS-H and Unit Leader in the UNITA project "Amplifying Silenced Voices Through Service-learning". She coordinates the SIPED working group "Education for Peace, New Poverty, Welfare Policies, Transdisciplinarity" and participates in international research networks. She is UniBS representative in the Italian Network of Universities for Lifelong Learning (RUIAP) and a member of the Steering Committee of the UniBS Student Space Centre.
She received the Italian Pedagogy Prize SIPED 2023 for the monograph Pedagogia e impegno solidale. A scuola di service-learning (Vita e Pensiero, 2020).
She is the author of four monographs and numerous articles in national and international scientific journals. She serves on the scientific and editorial committees of national and international book series. Since 2026, she has directed the series Il logos narrativo dell'educazione (Casa Editrice Volta la carta).
She has international teaching experience, with invited lectures at the Universitat de Barcelona.
