Curriculum Vitae
Born in 1962 in Milan. In 1988 laurea degree cum laude in Physics at the University of Milan. In 1993 research doctorate degree in Electronic Instrumentation at the University of Brescia. In 1994 visiting at HP Laboratories, Palo Alto, CA, USA. From 1993 to 2001 assistant professor, from 2001 to 2006 associate professor, since 2006 professor of Electronics at the University of Brescia.
The research activity deals with sensors, microsystems, and signal-conditioning interface electronics. Current interests include energy harvesting for autonomous sensors, thick-film piezoelectric acoustic-wave sensors, passive resonant sensors and MEMS with contactless interrogation, circuit interfaces and instrumentation for quartz-crystal microbalances and microresonator sensors, sensing systems for fluidics and microfluidics.
Since 1990 in national and international research projects on sensors and electronic instrumentation with both academic and industrial participation, often with coordination roles. Recent projects: EU PETRA II-PiezoElectric TRansducers and Applications, EU MATEO-Mechatronics, MIUR-PRIN 2007 and 2009.
Member of the TPC of, among others, Eurosensors and IEEE Sensors conferences, associate editor of Sensors & Transducers Journal, referee for the most prominent journals and conferences on sensors and electronic instrumentation. Selected advisory board and committee membership: IISS - Austrian Academy of Sciences, EU project Zeropower, Associazione Italiana Sensori e Microsistemi-AISEM. National coordinator of the research line on Sensors, Microsystems and Instrumentation in the Associazione Italiana Gruppo Elettronica. Coordinator of the academic board of the research doctorate in Electronics, Sensors and Instrumentation Engineering at the University of Brescia. Author of more than 150 publications in international journals and conference proceedings, invited presentations, book chapters, 4 patents. Invited speaker at the Eurosensors 2011 conference.
