Marchina Egidio was born in Brescia in 1963. He graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Brescia in 1990 with the score of 110/110. From 1991 he worked as graduate technician at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Brescia. From 2001 he is assistant professor of Structural Design at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Brescia. His didactic and research activities mainly concerns reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and timber structures. Most of the activity is done at the Material Test Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Brescia.
