Daniele Modotto received the Laurea degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Università di Padova, Padova, Italy, in 1996 and 2000 respectively. From 2000 to 2001 he was with the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK, where he was involved in nonlinear wavelength conversion modeling. Since November 2001 he has been working at Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione, Università di Brescia, Brescia, Italy. Since December 2018 he is Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields. His main research interests include nonlinear effects in optical fibers, microstructured optical fibers, integrated optics, plasmonics and planar antennas. He played a propulsive role in the establishment of the Electromagnetic Fields and Photonics Laboratory. He designs the experiments, contributes to the experimental work, and oversees the Laboratory activities; since 2012 he is the Manager of the Laboratory.
