• The research activity of Dr. Ivan Ferretti has been mainly devoted to energy efficiency optimization in industrial plants. During the research activity, analytical investigations and extensive experimental works have been carried out, using simulation software or analytical modelling software for optimization of linear/nonlinear models. Moreover, several specific heuristics algorithms have been developed, also addressed to the solution of real industrial situations. The main areas in which the research and scientific work have been articulated are reported hereafter: 1) Analytical modelling and simulation of energy efficiency optimization in industrial plants problems 2) Energy management and use of renewable resource 3) Sustainable Supply Chain - Green Supply Chain.

• 2003 - Degree in Industrial Engineering – at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Brescia (Italy)
• 2008 - Doctorate degree in “Planning and management of integrated logistic-productive systems” at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Brescia (Italy); title of the dissertation: " Simulative and analytical models for reverse and traditional logistics systems"

ENERGY-EFFICIENT PRODUCTION PLANNING: MODELLI ED IMPLEMENTAZIONI
L'obiettivo dei modelli di pianificazione della produzione efficienti dal punto di vista energetico è calcolare piani di produzione che non tengano conto solo degli obiettivi tradizionali di pianificazione della produzione, quali la riduzione al minimo del costo di stoccaggio, dei costi di set-up o del tempo di completamento totale, ma anche degli obiettivi legati all'energia come la riduzione al minimo del consumo di energia, dei costi energetici o delle emissioni di gas a effetto serra (GHG) e dei vincoli legati all'energia, come il rispetto di una richiesta di energia massima contrattuale o un vincolo di emissioni di gas serra. La ricerca si concentra sullo sviluppo di modelli di pianificazione della produzione efficienti dal punto di vista energetico e sulla loro implementazione nell'industria.
