BIANCHINI DEVIS

Devis Bianchini has been associate professor of Computer Science (SSD INF/01) since 2015 at Department of Information Engineering, University of Brescia. From 2005 to 2014 he was assistant professor of Information Systems (SSD INF-INF/05) at the same department. He received a Master Degree in Electronics Engineering in 2002 and a PhD in Information Engineering in 2005 at the University of Brescia.
Main research interests are focused on models and tools for Web Information System (WIS) design, service-oriented architectures, resource discovery enabled through techniques, tools and theoretical foundations of the Semantic Web. In particular, he worked on e-service modeling, semantics-enabled Web Service matchmaking, service-based collaborative platforms for enterprises, service identification for business process re-engineering, Web service modeling and Linked Data, intelligent selection of Web APIs to support the automatic composition of mashups. Recent research interests include: a) semantic techniques for mashup of components; b) methods and techniques for Big Data collection, management and exploration. In particular, for what concerns the latter research activity, he is co-responsible for the Big&Open Data Innovation Lab at University of Brescia.
He has been involved in national and international research projects, such as the industrial project APPORTA, addressing innovative tools and techniques for the after-sales diagnostics of machines in the manufacturing sector (scientific coordinator), the “Smart Manufacturing 2020” research project (scientific coordinator of the Brescia unit), funded as part of the National Cluster "Smart Factory", the VISPO project (Virtual District Internet-based Service PlatfOrm), the MAIS project (Multichannel Adaptive Information Systems), the INTEROP European Network of Excellence (INTEROPerability of Enterprise Applications and Software), the ESTEEM project (Emergent Semantics and cooperaTion in multi-kno...
