Dr. Ing. Giorgio Ramorino graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Brescia in 2000. From 2000 to 2003, he was a PhD Student in Applied Mechanics at the same university. In 2003, he spent 8 months at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York, USA). During this period he worked on dynamic-mechanical characterization of elastomeric nanostructured systems. In 2004 he took his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (University of Brescia) with a dissertation on "Development of methods for the experimental characterisation and numerical modeling of non-linear viscoelastic materials”. Since 2005 he has been Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Brescia.
The research activities of Dr. Ing. Giorgio Ramorino principally involve: • study of the mechanical and thermal behaviour of rubber-metal devices; • development of novel experimental methods to characterise the dynamic behaviour of elastomeric materials; • study of the fracture behaviour of elastomeric materials; • design of components in plastic material.
