Scientific activity
Dr Annalisa Del Prete carried out her research activity focusing on the study of dendritic cell biology, in particular the in vitro generation of human dendritic cells derived from circulating monocytes and from medullary CD34 + precursors and to the subsequent phenotypic and functional characterization of this cells by in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches.
Dr. Del Prete has carried out such research projects in collaboration with prestigious research groups, in particular the group directed by Prof. Silvano Sozzani at the Institute of Pharmacological Research "Mario Negri" (Milan) and at the University of Brescia. She also worked as visiting scientist at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, University of Louisville Health Sciences Center (Kentucky, USA), in the laboratory of Prof. Haribabu Bodduluri, focusing on the study of the role of lipid mediators in inflammatory processes using genetic models. Subsequently, she dedicated to the characterization of the role of mitochondria in the processes of differentiation and maturation of dendritic cells at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Human Oncology of the University of Bari "Aldo Moro". In recent years, at the Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine of the University of Brescia and in collaboration with the Humanitas Clinical Institute of Rozzano (MI), her scientific interests have been focused on the study of the pathogenetic role of immune system dysfunction in autoimmunity and cancer.
