Il socialismo liberale di Eugenio Rignano: teoria dei sistemi economici e filosofia sociale

The use of death duties as a means to reconcile equity (socialism) with eΣciency (liberalism) is usually associated with Eugenio Rignano, a polymath engineer who published prolifically in many fields (sociology, biology, psychology) and was the founder, with Federico Enriques, of the scientific international journal «Scientia». The paper examines the economic and social thought of Rignano, by focusing upon his unique conceptions of property rights in the light of the theory of comparative economic systems.
