Aluminium matrix composites reinforced with particles: Advantages and disadvantages regard to aluminium alloys

The MMC aluminium composites have a lot of advantages compared with bulk metallic alloys, in different application but, especially in structural components. However, in order to match a correct design it needs to be evaluating detailed information about the material microstructure. Recently, a complete set of diagrams were studied to correlate the metallurgical parameters with the functional ones.
