The strategic perspectives for the cooperative enterprises and the role of management

The reignition of the international crisis has also led the cooperative system to strongly depressive recorded results not only referred to the market data, but also on the maintenance of the "workforce" component which, albeit with relevant differences in different sectors in which the cooperative system is operative, had recorded one discrete capacity of maintenance as a whole. Even for the cooperative enterprises, the dilemma related to the main question of these years the “what to do” is being imposed with urgency, as the typical characteristics of flexibility and the capacity of adaptation of these enterprises do not seem any more capable of guaranteeing opportunities of further resistance to the devastating effects of the crisis. Naturally, it is worth for the cooperatives the same reflections that try to sustain the strategic directions proposed by the top management of other kinds of enterprise and therefore the need of dealing with the new through strong capacities of innovation that should concern the whole way of entrepreneurial operation (from the governance to the processes, from the alliances to the capacity of operating in new markets and through new methods of relation with the market itself).
