Saverio Francesco Regasto was born in Salisbury (Rhodesia), now Harare (Zimbabwe), on 17 January 1964. He is Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Brescia, where he teaches Comparative Public Law, Comparative Federal Systems and Public Law of the Islamic Countries. He received the PhD in Constitutional Law in 1993 at the University of Ferrara, with a dissertation on the interpretation of constitutional rules. He then received a two-year research grant by the University of Calabria. From 1993 to 1996 he had been Adjunct Professor of Public Law at the University of Calabria, Faculty of Economics, and of Administrative Law from 1996 to 1998. In 1998 he became Researcher in Comparative Public Law at the University of Calabria and in 2001 Associate Professor. From March 2005, he had been Professor of Public Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Brescia. He is a member of the Didactic Council of the Research Doctorate in Italian and European Constitutional Law at the University of Verona. He is a member of the Association of the Italian Constitutionalists. He is Director of the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Brescia. His fields of research cover the comparative study of the forms of government and the constitutional interpretation.
