Abstract:
A real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction
(RT-PCR) assay was validated and used to quantify bcr/abl
b3a2 and b2a2 mRNAs in clinical samples. bcr/abl mRNA was
correlated to Philadelphia chromosome levels and differed
significantly between cytogenetic response groups. A bcr/abl
mRNA threshold value correctly identified 96% of samples
without a major or complete cytogenetic response.
