Obiettivi Formativi


The course provides the necessary methodological tools to:
-be able to communicate about general topics in French at a B1+ level;
- acquire the strategies, techniques and knowledge of the specificities of business communication in French at a B1+ level;
- be capable of applying the skills above to comprehend and produce simple texts in the field of economics.

COMPREHENSION KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
At the end of the course, students can:
- understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure etc...
- understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters which regularly occur, including short narratives.
- understand the main points of many radio or TV programs on current affairs or topics of professional interest.
- read straightforward factual texts on subjects related to his/her field and interest with a satisfactory level of comprehension.

APPLICATION OF NOTIONS AND COMPREHENSION SKILLS
At the end of the course, students will be informed of and capable of interpreting oral and written texts at a B1+ level related to familiar subjects within his/her field of interest.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT
At the end of the course, students will be able to identify the most appropriate methods to analyse texts in French at a B1+ level about subjects within his/her field of interest.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the course, students can:
- write straightforward, detailed descriptions on a range of familiar subjects within his/her field
of interest.
- write a description of an event, a recent trip – real or imagined.
- write brief reports, which pass on routine factual information and state reasons for action.
- write personal letters describing experiences, feelings and events in detail.

LEARNING SKILLS
At the end of the course, students will be able to apply acquired linguistic notions and learning methodologies to contexts and contents going beyond those dealt with during the course and know how to independently analyze new topics on business and management. Students will also be able to improve their knowledge in order to get a certification of their French language abilities at B1 level.

Prerequisiti

A1/A2 level (BEGINNER) Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Metodi didattici


This French language course follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and it uses an integrated communicative approach in teaching French that focuses on the student and his/her environment. Particular attention is also paid to improving writing and listening skills, in a plurilingual approach through inter-comprehension reading tasks.

Contenuti


This course, meant for students who have mastered the basics of the French language (A1/A2 level), aims to help students improve their written and oral communication skills. During the course, students progress towards an intermediate knowledge of French by strengthening grammar, vocabulary and functions in order to develop their argumentation skills (B1+level CEFR for languages).Writing, listening and reading comprehension activities are centered on certain key points of business world and current economic, social and political events in French speaking countries.
