The Applied Economic Theory research group aims to apply models deriving from theoretical economics (with particular reference to game theory, irreversible investment models, portfolio choices in a dynamic frameworks) to the study of policy problems in various economic sectors such as environment regulation, incentives in an uncertain world, hospital competition, drug price regulation, optimal tax setting and tax evasion.
The group is made up of researchers more oriented to the study of theoretical models who, interacting with the most policy oriented part of the group, has been able over the years to produce several papers that have been published in top field journals.
