The learning and scientific activity of the Environmental Sanitary Engineering Research Group in the University of Brescia, mainly based on experimental studies, and which produced publications and appreciated attendance at Italian and abroad scientific conferences, concerns the technological, process and management aspects in the following areas:
- treatment of water for human consumption;
- treatment of urban wastewater;
- treatment of industrial wastewater and aqueous waste;
- recovery and disposal of urban and special waste, and sewage sludge;
- circular economy and industrial symbiosis;
- remediation of contaminated sites.
Within the group, the following activities are noted: the Working Group on "Management of wastewater treatment plants", which sees the collaboration of more than 150 experts; the Research Center “Appropriate technologies for environmental management in countries with limited resources (CeTAmb), and the Research Center "Environmental remediation and recovery of degraded areas and contaminated sites" (CeRAR)
