Smart Chemical Environmental Nose Technologies for Functional Ubiquitous Trace-gas sensing using Unified Responsive Edge-AI systems

Project
The SCENT OF FUTURE consortium aims to secure European leadership in Innovative Advanced Materials (IAM) for next-generation gas sensing. Current systems are fundamentally limited by poor selectivity, signal drift, and a lack of dynamic control. Our primary objective is to develop an integrated, scalable, and intelligent gas sensing platform driven by device-aware IAMs capable of trace-gas detection (ppb-level) under real-world industrial and environmental conditions. The project specifically targets the controlled engineering of gas–material interactions and transduction-relevant responses, integrating materials design, sensing physics, and scalable system implementation from the outset.
