The scientific interests regard the numerical approximation of partial differential equations with special attention to both theoretical and computational points of view.
In particular, the subjects of research are:
Spectral Methods, Spectral Element Methods, hp− Finite Element Methods, Stabilization Techniques, Domain Decomposition Methods, Preconditioners, Algebraic fractional step schemes, Computational fluid-dynamics, Incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, Heterogeneous problems, Multiphysics, Stokes-Darcy coupling, Non-conforming domain decomposition methods, Reduced Basis Methods, Isogeometric Analysis, Optimal control, Cardiac electrophysiology, Matix-free solver, Mathematical modeling for insect populations.
Coauthor of 3 books (9 published editions), author/co-author of about 30 papers published on either international journals or books and 11 conference papers.
She attended about 30 international conferences where she presented either contributed or invited talks.
Member of the following scientific research projects of national relevance: Prin 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008,2012,2017.
Referee for several international journals.
