Current Position. Associate Professor, University of Brescia (20014- at present)
Assistant Professor of Neurology, University of Brescia (2005-2014)
Neurologist, Neurology Unit, Hospital Spedali Civili, Brescia (2005- at present)
Head of the Centre of Brain Aging and Neurodegenerative Disorders, University of Brescia (2006- at present)

Fellowship. 2001-2002 Felllows at the Brain Research Centre, Cambridge University, UK. 2009. Visiting Assistant Professor, Dementia Research Centre, Queen Square, London, UK

Teaching experiences. She is Professor of Neurology at School of Odontostomathology (dal 2005-at present), School of Biotechnology (2005-at present), School of “Igiene Dentale” (2005, 2006), School for Radiology Technicians (dal 2005-2008).

Research interests. Barbara Borroni has focussed her scientific attention on neurodegenerative
diseases, Frontotemporal Dementia in particular. Author of more than 100 scientific work all published in recognized international Journals and cited by Science Citation Index (SCI). Barbara Borroni has been invited reviewer for a number of international journals (n=20), such as Brain, Archives General Psychiatry, Journal of Neurochemistry, Neurobiology of Aging, Biological Psychiatry, etc.
Barbara Borroni has been reviewer for several Italian and international projects, i.e. The European Committee (“VII progetto quadro”), the National Co-ordinating Centre for Research Capacity Development, UK, for the Research Training Fellowship of the Wellcome Trust, UK, for the National Medical Research Council of Singapore, for the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong, and for the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
She has been responsible (“Unità Operativa”) for the PRIN project 2005-2007.

Prizes and Awards. Premio Grazioli, Istituto Lombardo Accademia di Scienze e Lettere di Brera (2000), the Young Scientist Award of the Italian Network of Alzheimer Disease (2001 and 2003), the Premio Giovani Ricercatori della Società Italiana Neurologia (from 2001 to 2006).
