Marco Perona researches, teaches and innovates in the domains of operations management, supply chain management and service management. His main interest is to applt to these domains digital innovation, as well as the new business models dictated by the concrete application of circular economy.

Marco Perona is Full Professor of Industrial Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Brescia, Italy.
He holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, achieved in 1988 at the Polythecnic of Milan, Italy.
From 2000 to 2004 he has been a board member at MIP, the business school of the Polythechnic of Milan.
Since 1988 he has taught on operations management and industrial systems design, at the Polythecnich of Milan, Castellanza University and Brescia University.
Now he teaches Industrial Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Brescia.
Ha has published more than 120 works, encompassing books, books chapters, journal and conference papers and research reports.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY - this research stream investigates how the application of the circular economics principles can be possible whithin a supply chain, which are the factors that support or inhibit change towards a circular supply chain, and finally which change roafmaps are feasible to reach a full circular economy implementations.
MANUFACTURIN FIRMS SERVITIZATION - this research line explores the phenomenon defined as "servitization", that transforms manufacturing firms' offer from pure product to enlarged product-service platforms. What are the strategic motivation at the root of this trasformational process. The factors that activate and catalise change, and those that inhibit and slow down it. The new competences needed and the paths, endogenous and exogenous that make them possible.
THE DIGITAL SUPPLY CHAIN - this research line investigates how the digital innovations can have an impact on the organization, the strategies, and the operational model of the value chains, making new business models possible.
