Full professor of Applied Mechanics and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at the State University of Brescia.
Author of more than 150 scientific works (about ten of them are invited papers) dealing with dynamical analysis of mechanical systems, industrial robots simulation, manipulators calibration, new mathematical methods for studying typical mechanical problems, motion planning for automatic devices applied to manufacturing industry, biomedical devices.
Leader of operative units and partner in national and international projects on: original methodologies for robot tasks description, innovative robotic structures, bio-mechatronics systems for rehabilitation at home, soft computing procedures for mechanical systems analysis.
Responsible of funds to develop researches inside: new robotic architectures; for modelling indexing mechanisms for automatic machines; diagnosis procedures for mechanical systems.
Responsible for mechatronic and micro-mechatronic systems for biomechanics.
Scientific Coordinator for Brescia Research Group in projects PRIDE (Parallel Robots Interacting with Dynamic Environment) inside MIUR national project 2000 and MINIPAR (MINI PARallel robots), MIUR 2003 and 2005.
Member of Programme Committees of international Congresses, e.g. IASTED, CASYS, WSAES.
Scientific responsible in regional Lombardy "Metadistretti Design 2005 Project" and, in European Community MATEO project on Mechatronics (INTERREG IVC) and MRH (Mechatronics systems for Rehabilitation, INTERREG IVC)..
Scientific Responsible / Member in two VII FP Project (Copernico and Integ-micro).
Responsible for Brescia State University in Regione Lombardia project REMS (2015) on ultra high precision machines. Responsible for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department of the University of Brescia in Ministerial project LASERALLUMINIO.
Responsible for Brescia State University in Regione Lombardia project SIMERION (2017) on mechatronics rehabilitation systems.
Owner of 5 patents on mechatronic devices: 1) control system for industrial robots; 2) high performances monoaxis system for light loads manipulation; 3) cartesian belt system for pallet manipulation, 4) device for rehabilitation exercises, 5) SMA based actuator.
He is founding member of two spin-off companies of Brescia University.
Actually he is Director of the Mechanical and Industrial Department of Brescia University. He is Rector’s Delegate for Industry and Innovation; he is President of the Scientific and Technical Committee of CSMT (Service and Research Center) in Brescia.
