Gabriele Baronio was born in Brescia in 1973. He Gets a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Brescia in 1998. After several experiences as a mechanical engineer, both in the industrial and academic field, he becomes Assistant Professor in ING-IND/15 group ("Disegno e metodi dell’ingegneria industriale") in 2008.
Teaching activity: The teaching activity of Baronio began in 2001 as a co-operation to the courses of the ING-IND/15 group at the University of Brescia and as an assistant supervisor to a lot of degree thesis. Baronio is Assistant Professor of Engineering Design in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Brescia since 2008. He teaches technical drawing and computer-aided design in engineering and industrial design courses, also continues to follow the development of degree thesis both as a supervisor and as an assistant supervisor.
Research activity: The research activity of Baronio was conducted mainly in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Brescia, in the machine design field, schematically summarized as follows: • Patent of the degree thesis, University of Brescia: " Dispositivo per l’entrata/uscita autonoma di un disabile con carrozzina dal posto di guida di un’autovettura " (1998); • Study and design of machine for in-space experiments (from 2001 to 2007); • Design of systems and machines for scientific experiments (since 2003); • Design and development of biomedical systems and aids for disabled people (since 2006); • Optimization of teaching and valuation methodologies, applied to courses in technical drawing and computer-aided design (since 2008).
Publications: Baronio has authored more than twenty scientific publications (mainly conference proceedings and journals) and has participated in several conferences, seminars and workshops.
