Dr. Chiara Ricci was born in Cosenza (Italy) on August 19, 1968.


1994 MD at the Medical School of the University of Bologna with Prof. M. Miglioli

1997 she attended to Histopathology Department of the General Infirmary Hospital, in Leeds, working with Prof. M. Dixon on gastrointestinal pathology


1999 Graduated: Post Graduate School of Internal Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Bologna with Prof. M. Miglioli

2003 PhD on “Ultrasonography in Human and animal diseases” at the University
of Bologna with Prof. L.Bolondi

I became interested in gastroenterological disorders as a medical student at the University of Bologna (Italy).
Until June 1993 as a medical student I've been attended the Department of Internal Medicine in Bologna.
I obtained my medical degree and Doctoral Thesis in July 1994.
During August 1994 I have been attended the GI Unit of the Royal London Hospital (Dr. Colin Ainley) where I have act as an observer during all the therapeutic procedure.
I have been attended the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology of the University of Bologna directed by Prof. Luigi Barbara and I have teaching responsibilities for medical student and performed clinical work in the Department. I have also focus particularly my interest in upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases performing several hundred of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. In the mean time I have focus my scientific interest on the role of Helicobacter pylori in peptic ulcer diseases doing by myself different techniques, such as ELISA, culture and cutting and staining histophatological slides. In 1996, for 12 months I have been trained as “histopathologist” by Prof. F. Bertoni. In 1997, I spent 6 month in the Histopathology Department in Leeds, working with Professor M. Dixon.
In 1999 I was postgraduated in Internal Medicine of University of Bologna.
In the last four years, I have focused my interest on ultrasonology performing thousands exams and attending the Ultrasonology Unit of the Department of Intenal Medicine directed by Prof. Mario Miglioli
In 2003 I had my PhD on Ultrasonology of Internal Medicine.
In 2004, I became Lecturer in Internal Medicine at the University of Brescia

I am co-author of more than scientific papers and some of more important are listed
