He was born in Brescia (Italy) on December 29th, 1969. He enters the Medical School of Brescia in 1988 and graduates in 1995; he receives his certification as a Radiologist at the same University in 2000. In 1999 he becomes staff member of the Department of Radiology of the University of Brescia, chaired by Prof. Antonio Chiesa, where he spends most of his clinical worktime in Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, Conventional Radiology and Ultrasound. His clinical work and scientific research focuses particularly on two subjects: Head and Neck Imaging (with specific interest in Oncology) and Cardiovascular Imaging. In 1999, he attends the Universitaire Ziekenhuizen of Leuven (Belgium) for 4 months, as a fellow of Prof. Robert Hermans to deepen his skills in Head and Neck Radiology. In 2012 he gets the European Diploma of Head and Neck Imaging. In 2006, in London he attends for 3 months the Brompton Cardiac MR Course at Royal Brompton Hospital, to study in depth the multiple clinical applications and acquisition techniques of Cardiac MR. Assistant professor at the Postgraduate School of Radiology of the University of Brescia (2001-2015), assistant Professor at the University Course of Radiographers of the University of Brescia (2001-2015). Professor of Radiology (2015), Director of the Postgraduate School of Radiology of the University of Brescia (2016) and of University Course of Radiographers of the University of Brescia (2016).
Member of the Board of the Section of Odontostomatologic and Head and Neck Imaging of the Italian Society of Radiology since 2015. Member of the Board of the European Society of Head and Neck Imaging (2014-17); since 2017 Secretary of the European Society of Head and Neck Imaging. Honorary Member of the British Society of Head and Neck Imaging since 2010.
