Curriculum Vitae
A.M. Lezzi graduated in Physics at the University of Milan (Italy) in 1985. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore (U.S.A.) in 1990.
He spent one year, from September 1990 until August 1991, at I.A.N.-C.N.R. (Institute for Numerical Analysis of National Research Council) in Pavia (Italy). In 1991 he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Università degli Studi di Brescia (Italy), at first as Researcher, then as Associate Professor (1997). In November 2001, he became Full Professor of Industrial Thermal Sciences.
A.M. Lezzi has done both theoretical and experimental research in Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics. Some of the topics he has addressed are: covective heat transfer induced by spinodal decomposition; biomass fueled stoves; methods for evaluate building components transmittance; critical heat flux in capillary tubes; transport phenomena effects on gas sensor response; convection effects on steel solidification in ingot casting; solidification and melting with convection; free convective heat transfer from small size heat sources; convective heat transfer from rotating disks and cylinders; core-annular flow of oil and water in pipes; bubble dynamics; air entrainment; free surface flows; compressibility effects on the Rayleigh-Taylor instability; reversible flames.
He has served as reviewer for international journals and international conferences.
