Abstract:
Sustainable development is a fundamental objective that requires dealing with economic, social and environmental dimensions in a mutually reinforcing way. An ethical and responsible company has to pursue the overall objective of sustainability. At the corporate level, sustainability means the capacity of an organization to continue its activities over time, taking into consideration their impact on the natural, social and human capital. In order to pursue the objective of sustainability, companies have to develop an integrated information system that monitors and evaluates the economic, social and environmental dimensions of their performance.
