Moisè Amar, professore di "specialissima competenza"

Investigating the eclectic itinerary of Moise Amar, in the various dimensions that he crosses with his acumen, we have the evidence of him to be a pioneer (also) of the academic teaching of Industrial Law in Italy. The ‘training’ of jurists is an important objective, which Amar pursues in a complementary and synergistic perspective with respect to his high level practice of the legal profession and to his seminal scholarly production. The teaching activity he starts in 1870’s at the Law Faculty of the University of Turin constitutes a space for decanting his reflections, a laboratory through which he can refine his theoretical arrangements and constructions and, even more, offer them a fruitful and long-lasting outcome. The disciplinary, didactic and scientific lines traced by Amar become a reference model from the end of the nineteenth century across Italy, revealing an anomalously deep and durable impact for a non-academic professor like Amar. This confirms the quality of his teaching project, endowed with a broader cultural significance, and also highlights the remarkable authority of its promoter who, essentially a lawyer, can boast students and academic collaborators, heirs of his original method and of his tireless teaching.
