“Schiavi invisibili”: minori stranieri non accompagnati

Although the international instruments for the protection of victims of trafficking and minors are quite dating and although numerous repressive measures have been taken at European and international level, the fight against trafficking continues to face a criminal phenomenon in constant growth that encompass, among its most vulnerable victims, children and adolescents fleeing poverty, deprivation and wars. This demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the current means put in place at every level to adequately address the phenomenon. Overlapping the definitional confusion is the inability of operators in the migratory sector to identify from the stories of minors the cases in which trafficking has produced real forms of slavery and the insufficient emergence of the phenomenon, given that, once the minors arrive in Europe, unaccompanied foreign minors lose their tracks by becoming 'invisible' to the national authorities who should take care of them.
