Luca Passanante is Full Professor of Civil Procedure at the Law Faculty of the University of Brescia, where he teaches Civil Procedure and Comparative Civil Procedure. In the Law Faculty he is responsible for international relations and the Erasmus+ Programme. He has been visiting scholar at the Law Schools of the Universities of Edinburgh, Cambridge and Oxford (UK); in 2002 obtained his PhD degree at the University of Bologna and graduated at the Scuola di Formazione Integrata of the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori (IUSS) in Pavia. Since 2001 he is qualified as a lawyer; he has the right of audience before the Supreme Courts; he is enrolled in the national official register of mediators trainers. He is a member of the Associazione Italiana fra gli Studiosi del Processo Civile, of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL) and of the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Processual of British Italian Law Association. He is also a member of the scientific committee of the Camera Civile di Mantova (since 2012), of the editorial board of Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto e Procedura Civile (since 2013) of the scientific board of the law review Ius Dictum (Portugal) (dal 2020) of the scientific committee of Scuola di Alta Formazione (SAF) of the accountants of Regione Lombardia (since 2016). He has been invited in several foreign Universities to teach on judicial precedent and evidence. He is author of three books: Modelli di tutela dei diritti. L’esperienza inglese e italiana, Cedam, 2007, pp. 1-477; La prova illecita nel processo civile, Giappichelli, 2017, pp. 1-447; Il precedente impossibile. Contributo allo studio del diritto giurisprudenziale nel processo civile, Giappichelli, 2018, pp. 1-383. He wrote and published many articles and book chapters, took part to various Italian and international research projects and was invited to speak in several congresses in Italy and abroad.
