Curriculum Vitae
Stefano Uberti graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1998 with a degree thesis on a mechanical system to help disabled people driving a car.
In the following years he developed the system working for University of Brescia as a Research Fellow.
He defended his PhD in “Applied Mechanics” in October 2004 discussing a thesis on CAD modelling and simulation (University consortium between University of Brescia and Padua).
In 2005 he started working as a Researcher at university of Brescia (DIMI) in the sector of Machine Design (SSD:ING-IND/15)
His research Areas are related to (PE8_8, PE8_10, PE8_11,PE7_3):
• Electric battery vehicles systems and range simulation
• Agricultural and off highway vehicles
• Motorcycle design and dynamics
• Vehicle dynamics and simulation
• Special machine design and simulation
• Space application (Microgravity experiments)
He has been involved in the following national and regional founded programs as a participant:
• PRIN 2002: VI-CLOTH (CAD Simulation in integrated environment)
• Lombardy region :2014 project “Light Fork”
• Lombardy region AA128 Smart Grid Pilot: “Banco energetico”, led by prof.G.Beretta
Other research project
• Project financed by DIMI-UNIBS: “Golem”, on the design of a new trekking wheelchair (2017-2020), led by prof. Baronio
• Project financed by DIMI-UNIBS: “Tesla expander Chiller”, on the design and testing of a tesla turbine acting as an energy recovery device, led by prof. Iora-Invernizzi (2018-ongoing)
• CERN Geneve: On the design of a new apparatus to use carbon ions (Hadrons) in the therapy of cancer (Hadron-therapy) (2019-ongoing)
His activities are , to date, mainly self-financed through research contract with private companies :
• 2012-13: OMM-CRS - Road data acquisition and tests for motorcycle endurance.
• 2012-13: SDF Group spa - development and virtual test of a new independent suspension for vineyard tractor.
• 2013-14: SDF Group spa - development and virtual test of a new independent suspension for a large row-crop tractor.
• 2013-14: SDF Group spa - road and field data acquisition and test for tractor suspension endurance
• 2015: SDF Group spa - development of a new concept for steering system (patented)
• 2015-16: SDF Group spa- field testing of a 3 point hitch of a middle class tractor
• 2016 CATRA spa- design and development of a new muffler for agricultural tractor, in cooperation with KTH Stockholm MWL laboratory
• 2016: SDF Spa – analysis of static and dynamic loads on a SCR body
• 2016-17 MESAITALIA srl - study and design of a mini -rolling mill plant for biomedical alloys
• 2017: SDF Group spa – design and development of a test bench for innovative steering system
• 2017: SDF Group spa - development of a new independent suspension for middle class tractor.

He is adjunct professor at University of Brescia where he holds two courses:
-Technical Drawing at the BSc in Mechanical Engineering
-Special Machines Design (off-highway vehicles) at the MSc in Mechanical Engineering.

-History and tech of the car
-Product Documentation Management
-Industrial Machines Design
He has been supervisor of about 80 Master Theses at University of Brescia, in his research fields. He is super-visioning a PhD thesis at University of Brescia on electric off-highway vehicles simulation.
He has been also supervisor on a previous PhD thesis on Agricultural Tractor Suspensions.
He has been member of the Doctoral Board for the Mechanical Engineering PhD Course at University of Brescia for 5 years.
He has been supervisor of various research fellows.
He has participated as speaker in several national and international conferences since year 2000 (ADM, ICED, AED,AIMETA, CSM,DESIGN, Ingegraf, TMT).
He is listed as inventor in 4 patents (1 released, 3 under scrutiny process)
He is co-founder of 2 spinoff of University of Brescia:
- Crosstech srl, 2003
- Technox srl, 2017. The company employs 4 PhD of the same university
