Prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of cavitation of the ganglionic eminence

A 32-years old nulliparous woman was referred to our Institution after an abnormal routine anomaly scan (Case 1). At 22+0 weeks of gestation, ultrasound showed bilateral talipes, head circumference below the 5th percentile, borderline ventriculomegaly (13 mm), cerebellar hypoplasia, and bilateral cavitations of the ganglionic eminences (Figure 1a-b).
